Answers
- Is Always Perfect Detail insured?
Yes, your vehicle is fully insured up to $100,000 actual cash value under "garage keepers" policy with Erie Insurance Exchange, supplied through Riley Insurance Agency (412-487-4004.) Pennsylvania no-fault laws apply to liability.
Owner and driver D. Ira Higby has maximum liablility coverages available in Pennsylvania, has a ticket-free and chargeable-accident-free record. That's right-- not a single chargeable accident in 31 years.
D. Ira Higby liability insurance is also through the Riley Agency.
If your vehicle's actual cash value or "stated value" policy exceeds $100K or you are uncomfortable with someone else driving your prized possession, it is recommended that you personally deliver your vehicle for scheduled service.

- How much will a complete detail for my vehicle cost me?
The best way to answer this question is to ask you one: What kind of vehicle do you have?
Prices vary by model— not only because of vehicle size, but certain models require more expensive materials to complete the job correctly and safely.
Leather cleansers and conditioners for high-end vehicles cost much more, and take much more time to apply and remove. This affects the overall price of the detail job, making it slightly more expensive than a similar-sized, but less richly designed vehicle.
For example, in a similar-sized but different vehicle with less sensitive materials— those with inexpensive leathers that may only be present on the seating surface itself, and "pleather" elsewhere— you could expect that the price for this model would also be less expensive than the high-end model.
As the owner/proprietor of APD, I feel it is important to visit both the Detroit and Chicago International Auto Shows each year to carefully evaluate and price vehicles that I will be working on and in... it is part of the annual pricing policy, and ensures accuracy and fairness.
It makes no sense to save yourself $50.00— only to have a dealer's "lot boy" run a power buffer on your M5 and put ArmorAll on a bolstered seat that may cost you $5K to reupholster.
Look to complete pricing list to find your vehicle, then look for the amount listed.

- What threatens the finish on my vehicle that makes detailing such a good investment?
Pollution and ultraviolet light from the sun, just for starters! All of these invisible agents work against your vehicle's finish, making it chalky and dull.
Special, high-quality waxes applied after polishing form a transparent barrier against destructive environmental factors that can include road salt, bugs, and road grime in addition to the "invisible" ones mentioned above.
With the proper attention and the best materials on the market today, can restore that breath-taking finish to its showroom best.

- What does polishing do for the finish on a vehicle?
Polishing follows removal of bugs, tar, paint scuffs, etc. and removes the dulling build up of scratches acquired from road salts and repeated washes. Polishing restores the finish of your vehicle to a "new look" shine and depth, as well as preparing the surface for application of the state-of-the-art German acrylic sealant I favor for the ultimate in protection.
This multi-step process is part of the reason that APD is slightly costlier than the competition.
Dealers and other local detailers do the perparation process in one step: a rotary/circular buffer using rubbing compound. This not only thins out the paint each time, but it leaves "swirl marks" in the paint when their inexpensive silicon wax wears away in 4 to 5 weeks time.
This one-step preparation process saves the company plenty of time, and therefore, money... allowing them to offer you a "bargain price" for a so-called custom detail job. Don't be fooled, don't be uninformed!
Remember, maintaining your vehicle's appearance inside and out helps it retain a much higher resale value. Standard Package is the first step in the right direction.

- Do all vehicles benefit from detailing, or just the really expensive ones?
Yes, all vehicles benefit from the attention and care that a professional detailing job by APD can provide. All vehicles have surfaces exposed to atmospheric elements, and sometimes the family car is even more in need of a thorough detailing job than a more expensive one.
Take a look at the photo gallery to see some examples of how good a "regular" car can look!

- Do you have some tips on how to maintain my car's appearance between details?
Of Course! APD has a complete list of tips in the form of Do's and Don'ts that will keep your vehicle in great shape!
